Zac Efron, who stars in new film ‘Lucky One’ says he doesn’t know why he is so often called a hearttrob and says that his family just see him as himself, even though the title continues to follow him around. Zac also comments that his family live in “real life” and aren’t a part of Hollywood:
”They know exactly who I am and I’m far from a heartthrob. That word kind of follows you around, but I don’t know how exactly one earns it. [My family are] not in Hollywood. They’re in real life.”
Zac also explains that he mentally splits his life into two different parts – “real life” and Hollywood life. He believes that the Hollywood part is all about putting on a show and getting his job done, while he still gets to be a part of reality too:
‘You kind of put [life] into two parts of your mind. There’s the Hollywood section and then there’s real life. One of them is more of a show but it never overshadows real life for me. As long as you can draw a comparison between the two, one of which you know to be more important, you’re good. For me, the choice is very easy. One is where I work, one is where I live.”
Zac plays a solider in the film, and so had to hit the gym to get the right look for the part. He explains that changing his appearance was actually one of the hardest parts of the film for him:
”There were striking differences between the way that they were and I was. I was able to look at that early on, and then physically, there was a lot to be done. The hardest part about this was the physical transformation. The principles I learned, absolutely. I carry them with me and I still try to apply them, on a lot less rigorous agenda.”
