The Indiana Pacers (29-36) will host the Philadelphia 76ers (41-22) Monday night.
The latest injury updates Philadelphia 76ers and Indiana Pacers
The Philadelphia 76ers could be missing two starters when they go to play the Indiana Pacers on Monday. This is because they just got what could be their biggest win of the season.
Tobias Harris (sore left calf) and P.J. Tucker (back spasms) may not be able to play after leaving Saturday’s dramatic 133-130 win over the first-place Milwaukee Bucks with injuries.
Milwaukee had won 16 straight games, but Philadelphia came back from an 18-point deficit in the third quarter and scored 48 points in the fourth to end that streak. James Harden scored 19 points in the last quarter, giving him a total of 38 points, 10 assists, and 9 rebounds.
In 37 minutes, Joel Embiid scored 31 points (11-22 FG, 3-5 3Pt, 6-10 FT), grabbed six rebounds, and gave out 10 assists.
Milwaukee had won 16 straight games, but the Sixers broke that streak thanks to Embiid’s great game. He also didn’t seem to be bothered by the foot injury that kept him out of a game last week.
Since Embiid got back into the game, he has made 55.5 percent of his shots and 50 percent of his shots from beyond the arc.
The Sixers had lost 106 straight games when they were behind by 14 or more points on the road going into the fourth quarter. This win could be a turning point for them.
The last two games of the Sixers’ five-game road trip are back-to-back games against Indiana and Minnesota. Indiana has won three of the last four games it has played, including Sunday’s 125-122 win over the Chicago Bulls.
After missing one game because of tightness in his right calf, Pacers point guard Tyrese Haliburton came back and scored 29 points against Chicago, including the game-winning 3-pointer with 2.7 seconds left.
With the win, Indiana moved into a tie for 11th in the Eastern Conference.
Forward Aaron Nesmith missed Monday’s game because of pain in his left hip. Jordan Nwora, who was bought from the Milwaukee Bucks last month, started in his place.
Pacers injuries
- Aaron Nesmith (Hip) – Questionable
- Kendall Brown (Lower Leg) – Out for the season
76ers injuries
- P.J. Tucker (Back) – Questionable
- Tobias Harris (Calf) – Questionable
P.J. Tucker’s (back) status for Monday’s game against the Pacers is questionable.
Tucker had back spasms during Saturday’s win over the Bucks, and he may miss his first full game since January 8.
Tobias Harris (calf) is also questionable, so Jalen McDaniels, Georges Niang, Danuel House, and Paul Reed could play more if both starting forwards are out.
Tobias Harris, on the other hand, left Saturday’s win over the Bucks early because his left calf hurt. He could miss his first full game since January 14 if he doesn’t get better soon.
