After making a big statement with their win on Sunday, the Milwaukee Bucks went on a quick one-game road trip to play the Washington Wizards at home on Tuesday night.
Injury Update for Milwaukee Bucks and Washington Wizards
Before Monday’s NBA games, all the Bucks had to do to win the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference was win three games.
With four games left in the regular season for both teams, Milwaukee was two games ahead of Boston. Both teams do not meet again in the regular season.
Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 33 points and grabbed 14 boards to help the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Philadelphia 76ers 117-104 at home on Sunday.
Antetokounmpo gave yet another great game. Antetokounmpo has played in the last three games since he missed Monday’s win over Detroit. In those three games, he has averaged 31.7 points, 12.7 rebounds, 6.7 assists, 1.3 blocks, and 1 steals while making 61.3 percent of his free throws.
Khris Middleton scored 10 points in the first quarter by making 4 of 7 shots. By the end of the game, he had the most assists on the team, with 9.
Middleton won’t be able to play against the Wizards on Tuesday because of an injury to his right knee.
Middleton averaged 16.0 points, 6.5 assists, and 4.0 rebounds in 26.0 minutes per game in his last two games, but he will be out for the first half of a back-to-back set Tuesday.
Pat Connaughton and Jae Crowder are two people who might get more opportunities to run against Washington.
The Bucks want to win their season series with the Wizards. The Wizards won the first game of the season by a large margin (118-95) in Milwaukee on January 1.
Two days later, the Bucks got back on track and beat the Wizards at home (123-113). Milwaukee won again 117-111 at Washington on March 5 when Antetokounmpo had 23 points.
Since the 2017-18 season, Milwaukee has won the season series against the Wizards every year.
Washington (34-44) just lost to the New York Knicks on the road by a score of 118-109, which took them out of the playoff race.
Kristaps Porzingis leads Washington with 23.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game. However, he has missed the last two games because of an illness that is not COVID.
Bradley Beal also averages 23.2 points for Washington but Beal hasn’t played in the last six games, and since the Wizards aren’t going to the playoffs, some people think he might be done for the season.
Washington will miss the playoffs for the second year in a row, as they are currently four games behind the Chicago Bulls for the 10th and final play-in spot.
