When will Rocket League switch to UE5?

Nine seasons have passed since Epic and Psyonix joined forces; when will Rocket League make the switch to UE5?

Is Rocket League making the switch to UE5?

Despite Epic Games’ best efforts to keep the news of Unreal Engine 5’s development for Rocket League under wraps, but it has been accidentally revealed that this is something that is happening in the background.

In one of Epic’s job postings for a Marketing Copywriter, the job description revealed that UE5 is in the works and that the position would assist Psyonix with future projects, such as the migration of Rocket League and Sideswipe to Unreal Engine 5.

“The marketing department continues to build out its team in order to maintain and expand its ability to support Rocket League’s ongoing initiatives, as well [as] future Psyonix projects including Rocket LeagueSideswipe and Rocket League’s move to UE5.”Rocket League UE5When asked to confirm this leak, Psyonix Community Manager Devin Connors said, “Upgrading the technology that powers Rocket League, including a move to UE5, is something we are actively working on. This is a long-term project for us, and we’ll share more details when we’re ready to show our players what’s coming next.”

When will the transition take place?

While “long-term” sounds promising, it is impossible to pin down. The conclusion of Rocket League Season 10 may herald a new era for the game, similar to what happened when Rocket League (Legacy) Season 10 ended and free-to-play was introduced.

By that logic, the tenth season of Rocket League’s free-to-play era should begin around April, with its conclusion falling somewhere in the summer months of July and August, when Epic is likely to announce the game’s future.

What happens to Rocket League when it switch to UE5?

Rocket League’s transition to Unreal Engine 5 would improve its performance and visual quality while also allowing it to add new features and content.

Custom Training, versus AI, and Garage Customisation will all receive a makeover with additional coding and expansion options. Some players also anticipate the addition of a Creative Mode that enables the creation of custom maps for aerial time trials, ball control training, or simply a fresh-looking arena for a classic game of soccer.

Finally, Unreal Engine 5 is currently revving in the background, but there is no official release date.
