D’Onta Foreman, Gus Edwards, Parris Campbell, Mecole Hardman, Wan’Dale Robinson and Darius Slayton are the featured waiver wire targets before Week 8.
Gus Edwards and Parris Campbell Week 8 Waiver Wire Headline Difficult
Running Backs
- D’Onta Foreman, Carolina Panthers
In the Panthers’ first six games, Foreman had only 12 carries, but he had 15 in Week 7. Foreman rushed for 118 yards on those in the team’s comeback victory over the Bucs.
In addition, Foreman caught both of his targets for a total of 27 yards. After Christian McCaffrey was traded, it was expected that Foreman and Chuba Hubbard would form a committee, but Foreman received more carries and targets.
Hubbard carried the ball nine times in Week 7 before being injured. Both players are expected to see significant carries and targets in the coming weeks, but no clear starter has emerged. Foreman is currently available in 65% of leagues, but his availability has shifted by 32.3% in the last day.
- Gus Edwards, Baltimore Ravens
Edwards surprised everyone by taking over as the Ravens’ starting quarterback for the rest of the season in Week 7. JK Dobbins has been ruled out indefinitely and could miss the rest of the season.
Edwards, Justice Hill, and Kenyan Drake were assigned to the running back position by committee. After a strong Week 6, Drake appeared to be the new starter, but Edwards fared far better the following week.
Drake had only five yards on eleven carries, while Edwards had a breakout game in his return from injury. Edwards ran 16 times for 66 yards and two touchdowns. He was simply more explosive, and it appears that Edwards will be the primary back in Baltimore.
He is still available in 84% of leagues, but his rostered percentage has increased by 11% in the last day, indicating that he is a popular target.
- Parris Campbell, Indianapolis Colts
Campbell’s season may not be going well right now, but it will most likely improve. During his first five weeks, he never scored more than 8.3 fantasy points in a single game.
In contrast, Campbell has received 23 targets in the last two weeks. He caught 17 passes for 127 yards and two touchdowns. With Matt Ryan seemingly out for the season, Sam Ehlinger has taken over as the starting quarterback in Indianapolis.
In order to establish a connection and relationship, Campbell presents himself as a veteran option for Ehlinger. If the Colts perform well, Campbell’s targets may increase significantly.
- Mecole Hardman, Kansas City Chiefs
In Week 7, Hardman had a career game against the 49ers, scoring three touchdowns. In his last three games, Hardman has not had fewer than four targets or fewer than 12 fantasy points.
He had four receptions for 32 yards and a touchdown in his most recent game. Hardman had two carries for 28 yards, each of which resulted in a touchdown, in addition to his outstanding receiving performance.
His lightning speed allows him to cover a lot of ground and get to the end zone quickly. Hardman has four or more targets in five of his seven games this season, with at least three catches in each. As one of the Chiefs’ four featured receivers, Hardman’s workload will undoubtedly increase as the season progresses.
- Wan’Dale Robinson and Darius Slayton, New York Giants
The Giants are 6-1, and their offense is steadily improving. Saquon Barkley has been outstanding all season, but the Giants will have to rely more on their passing game in the coming weeks.
This leaves the Giants’ top two receivers, Robinson and Slayton, as rising stars in a young but promising offense. He has only played in three games this season, but in two of them, he has scored 11 or more fantasy points. Layton, on the other hand, has had a difficult season due to injuries, but he appears to be performing well in all other games.
He had six catches for 79 yards in Week 5, and three catches for 58 yards and a touchdown in Week 7. In contrast, Slayton combined for five total fantasy points in Weeks 4+6.
These two could have a few bad games here and there, but they should be consistent targets. Grab them quickly before they’re gone, as they’re both available in 86% of leagues.
