Several NFL running backs, including Austin Ekeler, Alvin Kamara, Miles Sanders, Antonio Gibson, and Elijah Mitchell, are out with injuries for Week 17.
NFL RB Injury Reports: Week 17 Updates on Alvin Kamara, Miles Sanders, Antonio Gibson and Elijah Mitchell
SUMMARY
- Alvin Kamara
- Miles Sanders
- Antonio Gibson
- Elijah Mitchell
Let’s devive to it.
1. Alvin Kamara
Kamara (quad) was absent from practice on Wednesday and Thursday before returning on Friday.
He faces little competition in the Saints’ backfield and is expected to be a strong RB2 option against the Eagles.

Sanders (knee) returned to full practice on Friday and is expected to play in Week 17.
With Jalen Hurts (shoulder) out, Sanders should play a significant role in the rushing attack. Consider him a mid-to-low RB2 against the Saints.

3. Antonio Gibson
Gibson (foot, knee) did not practice this week, so it came as no surprise when the Commanders ruled him out of Sunday’s game against the Browns. Brian Robinson Jr. should have a field day against Cleveland.

4. Elijah Mitchell
Mitchell (knee) will not return from injured reserve this week. Jordan Mason and Tyrion Davis-Price are expected to back up McCaffrey once more.
Elijah Mitchell's return-from-IR practice window will "definitely" open next week, per Kyle Shanahan. The 49ers are loading up
