SUMMARY
- Raheem Mostert
- Latavius Murray
- Rex Burkhead
- Ryan Tannehill
- Matt Ryan
1. Raheem Mostert, Dolphins @ Bills (Nick Musial)
UPDATE (DEC. 18): In the Dolphins’ 32-29 loss to the Bills on Saturday night, Mostert rushed 17 times for 136 yards, caught one of two targets for 20 yards, and returned one kickoff for 28 yards.
With Jeff Wilson Jr. (hip) out last week and listed as “day-to-day,” Mostert is expected to handle the majority of the backfield duties against Buffalo.
The Bills give up the ninth-fewest fantasy points to running backs, but Mostert’s projected workload without Wilson Jr. makes him a must-start.
A high snap share and a few receptions could propel him to RB2.
2. Latavius Murray, Broncos vs. Cardinals (Vinnie Iyer)
What’s red and green and not so great? The Cardinals’ run defense is bleeding on the grass. For the rest of us, it’s Latavius!
3. Rex Burkhead, Texans vs. Chiefs (Lutovsky)
UPDATE (DEC. 17): With Dameon Pierce (ankle) out, Burkhead is expected to play a larger role against the Chiefs on Sunday.
Houston’s backfield should be a two-man show with Dare Ogunbowale and Rex Burkhead with Dameon Pierce (ankle) out and Eno Benjamin waived.
Last week, Ogunbowale took more snaps than Burkhead, but Burkhead was the one called on late in the game for goal-line carries.
As a result, we believe he’ll see the majority of the RB touches and put up flex-worthy numbers in a favorable matchup.

4. Ryan Tannehill, Titans at Chargers
UPDATE (DEC. 17): Tannehill (ankle) took part in full practice on Thursday.
Tannehill, Tannehill, how underappreciated are your weapons when you’re running with Derrick Henry?
5. Matt Ryan, Colts @ Vikings (Lutovsky)
UPDATE (DEC. 18): Ryan completed 19 of 33 passes for 182 yards and one touchdown in the Vikings’ 39-36 overtime loss on Saturday.
Do you really desire to put Ryan in your fantasy playoff lineup?
However, the Vikings rank sixth in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks, so even Ryan should have a high floor and potentially high ceiling against them. Ryan should come through in a pinch if you’re in a deep league.
Carolina Panther vs. Steelers (Musial)
With Kenny Pickett still in the league’s concussion protocol, this pick is based on Mitchell Trubisky starting.
Trubisky struggled to muster much offense in relief duty last week, tossing three interceptions, and another multi-INT day could be in the works against Carolina on the road.
Green Bay Packers vs. Rams (Iyer)
They’re getting ready to bake some Christmas cookies in the shape of sacks and turnovers.
Arizona Cardinals vs. Broncos (Lutovsky)
Russell Wilson had his best game as a Bronco last week… and he still took six sacks and turned the ball over once before leaving with a concussion.
Even if he passes through protocol, Arizona’s aggressive, playmaking defense will be able to generate some sacks and takeaways. Even better if Brett Rypien starts.
