Warhammer 40K: Darktide – How to Rev Chainsaw Weapons
Chainaxe, Chainsword, and Heavy Eviscreator are three Darktide weapons with chainsaw capabilities. Each of these has unique properties, but triggering their chainsaw is the same.
To rev the chainsaw, simply press your Weapon Special Action button. This will temporarily activate the weapon’s chainsaw. Unless you hit an enemy during that time, the chainsaw will stop and you will have to press it again. However, if you hit an enemy while it is revved, it will stick into them and inflict massive damage over the next second. A heavy hit with the chainsaw revved up deals even more damage. In our testing, the Chainsword revved does hundreds of times more damage with a heavy attack than with a light attack.
Revving your chainsaw is an important part of using the weapon properly. With the exception of the Eviscerator, you’ll be using these weapons primarily for close-range special killing, so having that chainsaw revved up will make the job a lot easier. Just make sure you don’t hit your arm in the process.
