Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 15 of Fantasy Football: Zonovan Knight, Cam Akers, Gus Edwards, Chuba Hubbard, and Jordan Mason
SUMMARY
- Zonovan Knight
- Cam Akers
- Gus Edwards
- Chuba Hubbard
- Jordan Mason
1. Zonovan Knight
Even with Michael Carter back, Knight saw extensive playing time and should be considered a starter for the remainder of the season.
Despite the fact that the game script was not in the Jets’ favor, Knight logged the majority of the early-down and short-yardage snaps and gained 71 yards on 17 carries.
2. Cam Akers
Akers saw the most action of any Rams running back, and despite fumbling the ball, he gained 42 yards and a touchdown.
The Rams will keep the Cam Akers experiment going because they have nothing to lose. The Green Bay run defense, which has allowed the most fantasy points per game to opposing runners, is up next.
3. Gus Edwards
JK Dobbins stole the show in his first week back, but he’s unlikely to be available in your league. Gus Edwards, on the other hand, could be, and he’s still heavily involved in this run game, playing 31 snaps and carrying the ball 13 times for an average of five yards per carry.
Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill appear to be the odd men out, and Edwards and Dobbins will have one of the easiest schedules for running backs in the fantasy playoffs, with Cleveland, Atlanta, and Pittsburgh all ahead of them.
4. Chuba Hubbard
On Sunday, Chuba Hubbard carried the ball 14 times, serving as the third-down back and seeing significant snaps in short-yardage situations.
He ended up with a two-yard touchdown early in the game, but he’s still in a committee with D’Onta Foreman and Raymond Blackshear, so bid accordingly.
5. Jordan Mason
UPDATE (DEC. 17): Mason rushed four times for 64 yards in the Seahawks’ 21-13 victory on Thursday.
Not only is Elijah Mitchell out for the season, but Deebo Samuel may also be out or limited for the remainder of the fantasy season.
Jordan Mason is not only Christian McCaffrey’s handcuff, but he’s also a weapon Shanahan will use against a Seahawks run defense that allows the second-most fantasy points per game to running backs.
Mason carried the ball 11 times for 56 yards against Tampa Bay on Sunday, most of which came after San Francisco had already built a commanding lead, but he averaged more than 5.1 yards per carry.
