Victoria Beckham doesn’t need to spend hours in the office or working late nights – but she still does, to run her fashion business which continues to grow. She admits that knowing she doesn’t need to be working but wants to, has left her feeling guilty. She feels bad when she has to leave to go to work and says it can be hard to juggle home life with her tough work timetable:
“It’s a huge juggling act, when you are a working mother and looking after your family. Millions and millions of women around the world are doing this every day, but it’s not easy and yes, you feel guilty every time you walk out of the door to go to work.”
Victoria comments that she is used to being in the spotlight now and doesn’t use her own fame to boost her ego. She’s all about making women feel good about themselves and loves the idea of empowering them:
“I have been in the limelight for over 20 years. I am not on an ego trip; empowering women and making them feel sexy and great when they wear my clothes means more than thousands of people clapping. Empowering women is what makes me feel good.”
Victoria also says that being successful can be just as hard as the rise to the top because your constantly working to maintain your own success:
“When you are successful, the hardest thing is maintaining that level of success, so you work harder to maintain what you have achieved.”
