Verdansk Delayed: Beloved Call of Duty Map Won’t Return Until 2025 in Black Ops 6

Call of Duty fans eager for the return of the iconic Verdansk map in Warzone will have to wait a bit longer. According to leaks, the map originally planned for a Season 1 launch with Black Ops 6 has been pushed back to the game’s mid-cycle in 2025.

Call of Duty Fans Disappointed: Beloved Verdansk Map Delayed in Black Ops 6

The delay was brought to light by renowned Call of Duty data miner @BobNetworkUK on social media platform X. According to the leak, Verdansk will not be available during Black Ops 6’s initial season, contrary to earlier expectations. This pushes the map’s potential return to sometime in 2025, marking a significant wait for longtime fans.

To compensate for Verdansk’s delayed return, developers are reportedly planning substantial updates to the current Urzikstan map. These enhancements are said to include gameplay changes, map updates, and the introduction of Ranked Play with the launch of Season 1.

The decision to delay Verdansk’s return may be influenced by the developers’ approach in previous titles. During Black Ops Cold War, a new Resurgence map was introduced, followed by Verdansk ’84 – a reimagined version of the original map set in the 1980s, complete with era-appropriate weapons.

Speculation suggests that when Verdansk does make its comeback, it might be set in the early 1990s, potentially featuring new weapons, operators, and game modes reflective of that period. This could offer a fresh twist on the familiar landscape, blending nostalgia with novel gameplay elements.

While the delay is undoubtedly disappointing for many, the enduring popularity of Verdansk speaks to its significant impact on the Warzone community. Despite this setback, Black Ops 6 remains a highly anticipated release in the Call of Duty franchise, promising new experiences and challenges for players.

As development continues, fans can look forward to more updates and perhaps additional surprises in store for the Call of Duty: Warzone experience. Until then, players can enjoy the evolving Urzikstan map and other content updates planned for Black Ops 6’s initial seasons.
