Things appeared to take an aggressive turn in a very bad way in the final moments of the Sacramento Kings’ bad loss to the Washington Wizards on Friday night.
Domantas Sabonis, the Kings’ all-star big man and current best player on the team, appeared to injure his right hand in the final minutes.
He walked off the court and into the locker room with a member of the training staff.
Now, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski has provided an update on Sabonis’ situation.
ESPN Sources: Sacramento Kings All-Star Domantas Sabonis has suffered a right-hand injury and will undergo further testing and evaluation on treatment options. It is immediately unclear how much time – if any – Sabonis will miss. pic.twitter.com/AmbxASxAMY

For obvious reasons, it’s a difficult update to investigate thoroughly. There is still a lot unknown about the situation, but we do know that Sabonis did injure his hand and that there may be more to this situation in the coming days.
While everyone hopes for the best, hopefully a more detailed update will be released sooner rather than later.
Sabonis has been on a tear this season, and he is the one player on the Kings’ roster who the team cannot afford to be without for an extended period of time.
It is never a good idea to speculate. That being said, the news is not all bad, and it can be viewed positively. Any new information or developments will be shared as they become available.

- More on the Kings
Even before Sabonis’ injury, the Kings seemed to be looking to add another big man to their rotation.
They desperately need improved depth, even before accounting for any time Sabonis might miss. According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, Mo Bamba has been added to the list of names to keep an eye on.
With a record of 17-14 entering Christmas Day, the Kings are the sixth seed in the Western Conference.
