An unannounced PS5 sci-fi RPG game has allegedly leaked
A clip of a game reportedly nicknamed “Ooze” that is set to release on the PS5 was shared to the GamingLeaksAndRumors subreddit, but has since been deleted. Obviously, two seconds isn’t much to go on, but a screenshot was also shared, showing a fairly standard-looking male character dressed in basic sci-fi gear, on some kind of alien planet.
A well-known leaker, Dusk Golem, reportedly claimed to have seen the game, though he added that this particular leak came from an older build. He also named the game “Ooze,” explaining that it “will make more & more sense when people see more of this whenever they do, it’s a very ooey, gooey game, more than this clip even suggests.”
Ooze, according to the leak, will be a science fiction role-playing game. It’s currently being developed in Unreal Engine 5 with help from Sony-owned Liverpool-based developer XDEV. Sony stated earlier this year that it plans to release ten live service games by 2026, so this could be one of them, though it could also be completely unrelated to this plan.
The other developer was unknown at this time of writing, but an update from a post on ResetEra claimed the studio is People Can Fly, best known for the Square Enix-published Outriders. People Can Fly is currently working on a number of projects, one of which Take-Two Interactive dropped as a publisher last year.
The fact that the footage has been removed obviously lends some credence to its authenticity, so it’s only a matter of time before we get some sort of official reveal.
