Amy and Billy are ‘overjoyed’ and ‘over the moon,’ according to a source close to them.
Amy revealed last week that she had been scheduled for a Caesarean section, with doctors keeping a close eye on her because they were concerned her waters would break at any moment.
A close friend was informed of the couple’s exciting news: ‘Amy’s welcomed boy and girl twin babies. She’s overjoyed, but exhausted after a long labour.
‘Amy and Billy are over the moon by their new arrivals.’
Amy openly discussed how doctors closely monitored her with weekly check-ups after her waters broke early during her previous pregnancies with daughter Polly and son Ritchie.
The actress explained in her OK! magazine column that the birth could be natural or caesarean, despite the fact that the latter was scheduled.
Amy described her plan as “open,” saying: ‘Like I’ve said from day one – if I can go natural then I will. My phrase of the year is “anything can happen”.’
‘While the twins aren’t coming imminently, doctors are concerned because my waters went with my previous pregnancies so it could happen at any time,’ she continued.
The babies will be delivered via Caesarean section, which involves making an incision in Amy’s abdomen rather than vaginally. If a natural birth would endanger the mother, the procedure is frequently used.
Amy shared that because the twins are not identical, she can be left up to 38 weeks in the term before giving birth, despite the fact that things look good from previous scans.
She also added: ‘They’ve told me at the moment that the babies aren’t engaged just yet so there’s no chance really of them coming just yet.
‘When they scanned me they said they’re really comfortable. So far the girl is weighing 6.8lb, while the little boy is 6lb.’
Amy and Billy Delbosq, 39, have been dating since October 2021, just two months after Amy split from her ex-boyfriend Tim after 14 months together.
Amy has a five-year-old daughter, Polly, with ex-boyfriend Bradley Wright, and a two-year-old son, Ritchie Jr.
She decided to stop using contraception last year. However, the reality TV star did not expect to become pregnant so quickly, as she discovered two months later.
Amy later discovered she was expecting twins, which surprised the couple even more.
