We already know that infants will be added to The Sims 4 in a future update, but the exact release date is unknown. So, when will this update be available?
The Sims 4 Infants Update Release Date
According to the Behind the Sims Summit Event, Infants are slated to be released in early 2023, which typically means between January and April. Even though the patch hasn’t been officially scheduled yet, we do have a release window.
The Infants update will be integrated into the base game and is also entirely free. Infants should logically take the place of a Sim’s second life stage, serving as a transitional stage between Babies and Toddlers. In terms of how that works in-game, imagine a baby who has learned to crawl and is about to take its first steps. That is what an Infant in the game should be.Babies are newborns, and infants are just beginning to explore the world and its wonders. This stage is still distinct from Toddlers, who represent later stages of childhood and are more developed.
This results in a more realistic view of how newborn Sims function. Even though they probably won’t add new life stages for each and every moment of a person’s life, it’s encouraging to see that Maxis is open to developing their established gameplay mechanics, even if only slightly. Infants seem to be a good addition, and we should soon learn more about what they can do.
