But has the door been opened for Grissom to play shortstop for the Braves?
On Wednesday night, during Atlanta’s series finale against the Cincinnati Reds, starting pitcher Hunter Greene hit Orlando Arcia in the left wrist with a 98 mph fastball.
He was later pulled from the game after remaining in it. According to the team, the X-ray results were negative for a fracture.

Braves: Would Orlando Arcia’s injury make room for Vaughn Grissom?
Whether or whether this opens the door for Grissom to be called up will be determined by the severity of Arcia’s injury.
While the x-rays were negative, we are confident that Arcia will be subjected to additional testing to determine what is wrong with her.
If he does miss time, the only other shortstop on the roster is Ehire Adrianza, who took over for Arcia on Wednesday night.
Grissom began the season in Triple-A and has been on a tear. Grissom had a.366 batting average,.458 on-base percentage,.585 slugging percentage, one home run, four RBI, eight runs scored, and 15 hits in 10 games with the Stripers.
The Braves defeated the Reds 5-4 on Wednesday night, thanks to a go-ahead, single home run in the bottom of the eighth inning.
Atlanta will have a day off on Thursday before going to Kansas City to face the Royals in a three-game series that begins on Friday.
From there, Braves fans should have a clearer notion of whether Arcia will play or if Grissom will be called up.
