Harris and Johnson are coming off two of their best games of the season. However, injury may make the upcoming match difficult for them.
Update on Najee Harris and Diontae Johnson’ injury status
With a win over the Carolina Panthers last week, the Pittsburgh Steelers kept their slim playoff hopes alive. To have a chance at making the playoffs, the Steelers will most likely need to win out and get some help.
It was revealed that rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett will most likely start this weekend. However, not all of the news is positive. The odds of that happening fell on Wednesday as a result of the latest injury news.
According to ESPN’s Paul Gutierrez, the Steelers’ two most important offensive players, RB Najee Harris and WR Diontae Johnson, both missed practices.
Harris and Johnson both had limited practice time on Tuesday. That means they were both demoted, each with their own injury. The wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers has been hampered by a toe injury. Meanwhile, Harris has been suffering from hip pain for several weeks.
It’s unclear whether Steelers coach Mike Tomlin simply wanted his players to get some extra rest. However, a veteran rest day is usually the first or last day of practice during the week.
The fact that they practiced in a limited capacity on Tuesday and downgraded on Wednesday does not bode well for their availability this weekend against the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Steelers and Raiders both face a must-win situation on Saturday. They are tied at 6-8, so this is effectively an elimination game.
Harris and Johnson are coming off two of their best games of the season. Harris rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown, and Johnson caught 10 passes for 98 yards. They could be needed against a more potent Raider’s offense.
