Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for Tekken 8, and in it, they show off Bryan Fury, another returning fighter who can be controlled by the player.
Tekken 8 – Release date
There is currently no set date for the release of Tekken 8. It’s more likely that the game will come out in late 2023 or early 2024, though.
Tekken 8 – Bryan Fury reveal & trailer
The trailer was actually supposed to be released during the ongoing Combo Breaker 2023 tournament, but it was leaked ahead of time by the publisher’s Instagram account. As a result, Bandam Namco pushed the release date up and made it official right away.
For the first time since his introduction in Tekken 3, fan favorite Bryan Fury is making a return appearance. Based on what we see in the trailer, the former police officer turned zombie cyborg hasn’t softened up one bit.
Tekken 8 – Character roster
In addition to the recently revealed Bryan Fury, Tekken 8 features a wide variety of playable fighters. Let’s take a look at the entire lineup down below.
- Asuka Kazama
- Emilie “Lili” De Rochefort
- Hwoarang
- Jack-8
- Jin Kazama
- Jun Kazama
- Kazuya Mishima
- King
- Lars Alexandersson
- Leroy Smith
- Ling Xiaoyu
- Marshall Law
- Nina Williams
- Paul Pheonix
Given the extensive cast of characters in Tekken 7, there are still many fan favorites who have yet to be announced, such as Yoshimitsu and Eddy Gordo.
However, in Tekken 7, various DLC characters were available in addition to the standard roster, which appears to change in Tekken 8 because Leroy Smith will be part of the game’s base roster. That’s not to say that DLC characters won’t make a return in Tekken 8, but it’s possible that entirely new characters will receive DLC spots rather than the ones we’ve grown to love.
This also begs the question of whether characters like Fahkumram and Lidia will make their debut on the main roster, but it’s difficult to believe that the entire roster will be revealed before the game’s official release. With the anticipated return of Jun Kazama, it’s impossible to predict any future debuts, which only adds to the excitement.
