Rain has crept into the Twin Cities, threatening to postpone the game between the Minnesota Twins and the Kansas City Royals, which was scheduled to begin at 3:10 p.m. (Central time). Pablo Lopez (1-2, 3.00 ERA, 1.03 WHIP) will face Jordan Lyles (0-4, 4.88 ERA, 1.18 WHIP) on Friday in the sixth meeting between the two clubs this season.

Minnesota won 7-1 on Thursday night and swept the Royals in a three-game series at Kansas City to begin the 2023 season.

The teams were hoping that the rain would stop before first pitch. Batting practice on the field, however, was canceled for both teams due to the tarp remaining on the field and significant rain falling two hours before first pitch.

After the interview was moved indoors due to rain and cold, Kansas City Royals manager Matt Quatraro told reporters in his clubhouse office.

“When we first got here today, they said they thought the back edge of the front would be moving out right around game time, or maybe slightly after that. However I haven’t heard another update for the last couple of hours,”
