Justin Bieber admits that he constantly asks himself “What would Michael do?”. The singer says he looks up to Michael Jackson and is inspired by his long career, and he wants to replicate it. Justin enjoys watching videos of Michael’s past concerts which he finds inspiring, and when it comes to prepping for his own tour, he tells his team to think of Michael:
”I’ve been watching videos of his concert tours over and over, he’s my inspiration. When my team gets together, we’re always asking, ‘What would Michael do?’ ”
Justin says he isn’t interested in being just a heartthrob – he wants his career to last, and thinks he is the “underdog” because he believes that at some point people will begin to believe his career is over, however he continues to work hard, especially on his tours which he creates in order to surprise people and put on an event for them:
”I don’t want to be just another teen heartthrob. I know some people are waiting for me to fail, thinking, ‘Oh, his time’s up.’ Well, I like being the underdog, and this tour is my chance to take things to the next level. I’ve never put in more hours preparing, because I want [the tour] to be perfect. I want it to be an event. I’m with a personal trainer every day. I’m rehearsing every day. I want people to see this tour and go, ‘Wow, that was something I didn’t expect.’ ”
