Singer-turned-actress Christina Aguilera, who starred in ‘Burlesque’ recently wants to try her hand at a new kind of role – she wants her next character to be a crackhead. The reason why? She thinks taking on a difficult drug-addled role will prove that she is a good actress to her audience, and this is something she is keen to do (the day Xtina wins an Oscar will be an awkward one for humanity). She commented that she wants to expand her career:
“I do want to do more acting. I want to do something where I can really sink my teeth into something a little more challenging. Really outside of myself, outside of music. I sort of had this personal aspiration to do film, but I said, ‘I never want to do a musical! It’s too much like myself.’
Christina wants to play honest parts and is looking to take on a role that she thinks is different and perhaps even shocking for her to accept, this is why crackhead came to mind. She wants to move away from her own personality and really slip into character the next time she’s on screen:
“I want it to be honest and genuine in expanding my wings and doing something really, really different. A crackhead on the street or a drug addict. Or something crazy and meaty and juicy. Something that really took me out of myself.”
