If you have accidentally selected the wrong primary residence in Star Citizen and are unsure of how to change it, this guide will help you out.
Star Citizen Guide – How to change your primary residence
Without resetting your character, here’s how to change where you spawn in Star Citizen so that returning to your last known location after death is easier.
First, fly to your preferred spaceport and enter. You’ll need to locate a medical clinic or hospital. Hospitals will exist on planets, and medical clinics will exist on space stations, so know what you’re looking for. Inside the medical facility, look for the insurance booth.
Once you’ve found it, proceed to the regeneration kiosk, which will be a waist-level station with the word “regeneration” written on the screen. When you click on it, a screen with two options will appear.
Under the Change Your Preferred Regen Location option, you’ll see a section called Primary Residence Facility with a button at the bottom that says Reset Location. If you click on it, it will make your chosen spaceport your primary residence.
When deciding on your primary residence, you should pay close attention to which spawn you select, as the differences are enormous:
- Orison on Crusader: A city floating above the clouds.
- Loreville on Hurston: A sandstorm-engulfed dystopian world
- Area 18 on Arccorp: A city planet founded by technology titans
- New Babbage on Microtech: Terraforming has transformed this small planet into a natural marvel.
If you have a preferred spot where you spend most of your time, that’s where you should make your home base. The universe, however, is the limit, so getting your starfarer out of the hangar and exploring is also fun.
You’ve changed your residence without using mobiGlas. This will remain constant throughout the game. While it isn’t quite the same as being a homeowner, it is free of aUEC. And there are no property taxes!
