Sons of the Forest Guide – How to kill sharks
To be honest, you probably won’t need to kill sharks in Sons of the Forest, at least not as frequently as you would most cannibal or mutant enemies. Most likely, you’ll only come across these deadly predators a couple of times.
One example is when you enter a cavern and travel to its depths to obtain the Rebreather. You can walk across on solid ground, pick up the Rebreather, and wait for the shark to pass before diving and swimming to the tunnel exit. You can also try to stab it with the Crafted Spear, but it felt a little clunky, so I just avoided it when I dove in.
The other is out in the open sea, with nowhere to hide. This is when you try to obtain the Pistol, which is indicated by the only purple marker/icon in the middle of the water. You’ll have to shake that dread as you swim closer to the boat, all while the hungry creature circles the area.
If you really want to kill them, you will need a gun. A pistol is all you need. Once you have it, wait for the shark to swim around the boat and then fire a few well-placed shots. Once it’s dead, you can swim back to the shore without fear. There are also other weapons, like the Shotgun, which is probably not needed. By the time you get it, it’s unlikely that you’ll run into another shark who wants to eat your character.
