Selena Gomez is about to shake off her Disney image for her new sexier role in ‘Spring Breakers’ and she’s warned her younger fans not to tune in. She says that she has tried to tell parents to keep younger children away from the film and is thankful for her following of all ages. She hopes younger fans won’t mind missing out on one film she’s in:
“I do everything for my fans. I know that I have a younger following, and I so appreciate that, and I’m thankful for that, but I did warn them in my best ability, as I could, when I see the parents, I go, ‘Maybe they don’t see this one’.”
Speaking on having to wear figure-hugging outfits and bikinis for the role, Selena says she didn’t mind at all because she was playing someone else and felt it wasn’t necessarily her body but the character’s body that was being put on display. While the rest of the female cast freaked out about their appearance, she says she remained cool about the tiny bikinis required for the part:
“It was so funny. The rest of the girls were in the trailer doing crunches. I didn’t mind. I didn’t care, people take pictures. People already have opinions. I wasn’t there for that, necessarily. I was playing a character, so I just completely indulged myself in that. So whether I was in a bathing suit or a turtleneck, I was fine.”
