Week 10 wasn’t a complete disaster for the Rams, but it was close. Los Angeles received bad news ahead of its divisional matchup with Arizona, as Matthew Stafford was ruled out due to a concussion.
Stafford’s favorite target suffered an injury of his own as backup quarterback John Wolford tried to will the reigning Super Bowl champions to victory on Sunday.
Kupp injured his ankle in the fourth quarter of the Rams’ eventual 27-17 loss and did not return to the game after being helped to the locker room by LA’s medical staff.
At first glance, the injury appeared to be serious, and head coach Sean McVay suggested as much after his team fell to 3-6 on the season.
“It didn’t look good. It didn’t sound good,” according to ESPN’s Sarah Barshop,
Fortunately for Kupp and the Rams, it appears that the Super Bowl LVI MVP is not done for the season.
Initial testing on Kupp’s ankle revealed that the superstar wide receiver avoided “the worst-case scenario” with his injury, according to The Athletic’s Jourdan Rodrigue.
However, Rodrigue cautioned that the situation could change as Kupp undergoes additional testing in the coming days.
With the loss to the Cardinals, the Rams fell to 13th in the NFC West. Los Angeles will try to snap its three-game winning streak when it visits the 3-7 New Orleans Saints on Sunday, but it doesn’t appear that the Rams’ best offensive player will be available in Week 11.
