While promoting her latest film ‘Grown Ups 2’ (apparently a second one was necessary), Salma Hayek made a bit of a controversial remark about Angelina Jolie’s recent preventative mastectomy. The actress, who has one daughter named Valentina, says that although she would undergo the surgery, she might have waited and had “more faith” than Angelina did. She does say that it would be a personal choice and she sounds as though she isn’t slamming Angelina’s decision completely, but still – it seems as though she felt Angelina didn’t have enough faith even if the odds were against her after the cancer gene was found. Salma said:
“To save myself, of course! I don’t know if I would have done the same [as Jolie] so quickly, perhaps I would have had more faith, thought more positively that nothing was going to happen to me. But you know, I don’t know, it’s not fair to put yourself in that situation when you haven’t been in it. I respect her decision a lot, of course. Plus, she looks great.”
What do you think of Salma’s comment – is she actually taking a slight dig at Angie’s decision, or is she saying it’s just personal?
