The Los Angeles Dodgers should consider trading for Bryan Reynolds. However, the Pirates are reportedly looking for a large return for Reynolds.
The Dodgers are keeping an eye on Pirates’ Bryan Reynolds
According to Jon Morosi, a recent report suggests that the Dodgers would have to part ways with top pitching prospect Bobby Miller in order to acquire the centerfielder from Pittsburgh.
According to Morosi’s report, the Pirates are looking for a top starting pitcher to lead a Bryan Reynolds trade package return. As potential candidates, he mentioned Bobby Miller of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Ricky Tiedemann of the Toronto Blue Jays.
The Dodgers’ genuine interest in Reynolds is unknown. He’s an All-Star outfielder with power and strong defensive skills. Furthermore, Reynolds’ contract includes several years of team control. That being said, Bobby Miller, a hard-throwing right-hander with a high ceiling, is highly valued in Los Angeles.
However, if the Dodgers do not need to include top prospect Diego Cartaya in the deal, the trade could pique their interest.
The Pirates would rather keep Bryan Reynolds on the team. They believe they have a young core capable of competing in the near future, led by Reynolds, Ke’Bryan Hayes, and O’Neil Cruz.
However, Reynolds’ previous trade request forces them to make a difficult decision about his future with the team.
