Pollution can be extremely harmful to those who have created their first mechanoids. When you first recharge or create a mechanoid, it will produce toxic waste packs over time. These nasty little things can be bothersome space hogs at best and deadly pollutants at worst. Here are a few wastepacks management strategies to try in RimWorld.

RimWorld – What to do with wastepacks
When dealing with wastepacks, there are a few approaches to take.
The most straightforward solution is to let them lie and accept the pollution. There will be benefits if your land is polluted. Polluted soil will be able to support new crop varieties. Toxipotato can be grown, but it should never be eaten raw. Pollution may bring new animal types to your area, so you won’t run out of food; these animals are toxolopes and waste rats; there will be more of these special toxianimals in the future; we just have to wait.
If you don’t want to destroy the ecosystem, try freezing your wastepacks. They won’t release toxins into your environment if they aren’t damaged or ignited.
You can also use expensive wastepack atomizers to eliminate them completely, but this way may be too costly to implement in practice.
Polluted maps will naturally spawn polux trees, which will gradually purify the land around them. Unfortunately, obtaining a polux tree is essentially a gamble because the trees cannot be replanted due to their delicate root networks.
Finally, you can use caravans or transport pods to export your wastepacks into the world, making them someone else’s problem. If you’re feeling particularly vengeful, you can even drop them in or near enemy bases.
