Rihanna recently launched her first fashion collection in collaboration with British brand River Island as part of London Fashion Week and now she has explained what motivated her. The singer believes that British people are extremely fashionable and instead of following trends, they inspire designers who notice their unique dress-sense and street trends. This is where Rihanna sourced her creativity from when it came to designing:
”Britain has the most fashionable kids in the world. These kids inspired the high-end designers – they say what’s cool. So why not to go to the source when you want to be ahead of the trend and create something inspirational and fresh? That’s why I wanted to work with River Island.”
The singer has revealed that a fashion collection has been one of her big dreams for quite some time because she has always loved fashion and wanted to get creative with fashion for a long time and now she’s finally had the chance to do exactly what she’s wanted:
”I’ve wanted to design my own fashion line for a very long time now. It’s been something I’ve thought about since I started loving fashion. Every time I saw a garment on the rack there was something I wanted to change, so I felt like the only way I could do that was by designing the perfect thing for me.”
