PS5 Ys IX: Monstrum Nox Release Date
Ys IX: Monstrum Nox will be released on Sony’s new console in stages, beginning with North America on May 9 and Europe on May 12. Oceania gamers will have to wait until May 19 to play. Along with the announcement, we get a trailer that introduces the characters. You can see it below.
The game continues Adol “the Red” Christin’s story as he goes on a new adventure in the Romun Empire city of Balduq. Our hero gets arrested and put in jail, but while he’s there, a woman named Aprilis turns him into a Monstrum, a supernatural being with the power to get rid of monsters.
Currently, Nihon Falcom is hard at work on the sequel, Ys X: Nordics, which will be released in Japan in 2023 for the PS5, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. It includes a new journey for Adol to Oberia Bay in the Northern Sea, a new female companion, naval combat, and a few interesting changes to the gameplay and battle system. We don’t know when it will make its way west. Nihon Falcom games typically take a long time to localize.
