Jalen Hurts sprained his shoulder in the Eagles’ win over the Bears on Sunday. Hurts’ availability for the Eagles’ Week 16 game against the Cowboys was also in doubt.
On Monday, Adam Schefter made an intriguing prediction about Gardner Minshew

Schefter made his prediction while appearing on ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown” program. He predicted that Minshew would start against Dallas on Saturday.
Schefter said: “My guess is, Jalen Hurts doesn’t play, and we see Gardner Minshew on Saturday against the Dallas Cowboys,”
Part of Schefter’s reasoning is that the 13-1 Eagles only need to win one of their final three games to secure the NFC’s top seed.
Hurts would most likely want to play regardless of the circumstances, but the Eagles may want to keep him out of the game so he can heal and be ready for the postseason.
Minshew is a second-year player for the Eagles. He is a reliable passer who demonstrated some big-play ability during his first two NFL seasons with the Jaguars.
During his NFL career, the 26-year-old has thrown 41 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.
