Pokemon Go Rivals Week Event Dates
The Rivals Week throwdown runs from Saturday, May 4th, 2024 at 10:00 AM to Thursday, May 9th, 2024 at 8:00 PM (local time). So, mark your calendars and prepare to unleash your inner Pokemon master!
Encounter Rivals in the Wild
Keep your eyes peeled for a surge of Fighting-type Pokemon appearing more frequently in the wild. Look forward to encountering:
- Alolan Sandshrew
- Mankey
- Poliwag
- Machop
- Gligar
- Ralts
- Lickitung
- Galarian Stunfisk
But wait, there’s more! The week features a special schedule for specific rival Pokemon appearances:
- May 4th-5th: Zangoose and Seviper
- May 6th-7th: Throh and Sawk
- May 8th-9th: Heatmor and Durant
Remember, trainers! Pokemon marked with a star (*) have a chance of being shiny, so keep those Pokeballs at the ready!
Event Bonuses
Rivals Week also brings a wave of bonuses to supercharge your gameplay:
- 10x XP: Earn a whopping 10 times the XP for spinning Photo Discs at Gyms.
- Double Candy: Catch Pokemon and enjoy double the Catch Candy for the entire event.
- Shiny Spotlight: Increased chances of encountering shiny Zangoose, Seviper, Throh, Sawk, Heatmor, and Durant.
- PokeStop Showcases: Get a visual treat with PokeStop Showcases featuring the highlighted Pokemon.
Test Your Might in Raids
If you’re looking for a tougher challenge, these Pokemon will be appearing in raids throughout the week:
- 1-Star Raids: Mankey, Teddiursa, Swinub, Jangmo-o
- 3-Star Raids: (rotating schedule)
- May 4th-6th: Zangoose and Seviper
- May 6th-8th: Throh and Sawk
- May 8th-9th: Heatmor and Durant
Research Rewards and Bonuses
During Rivals Week, new Field Research tasks will be available at PokeStops. Completing these tasks will give you the chance to encounter Alolan Sandshrew, Mankey, Poliwag, Lickitung, Gligar, Ralts, and Galarian Stunfisk.
Additionally, a special free Timed Research will be available to all players, rewarding you with XP, Rare Candy, Fast TMs, and encounters with event Pokemon.
Go Battle Weekend
As part of Rivals Week, a special Go Battle Weekend takes place from Saturday, May 4th at 12:00 AM to Sunday, May 5th at 11:59 PM (local time). Here’s what awaits you:
- 4x Stardust from PvP win rewards (excluding end-of-set rewards)
- More battles! The daily set limit is increased from 5 to 20 (for a total of 100 battles)
- Free battle-themed Timed Research with Hala-Style Sandals as a reward
- Optional $1.00 Timed Research for Stardust, a Star Piece, Rare Candies, and Rare Candy XL
