Persona 5 Royal, an enhanced version of Atlus’ 2016 role-playing video game, will be released on the Nintendo Switch and other platforms in October, and Persona fans have discovered one significant improvement of the Switch version over the original PS4 version that players can look forward to.
ScrambledFaz, a Twitter user, noticed this week that the Nintendo eShop listing for the game had gone live (at least in Japan), with a few screenshots and other information listed there. According to one of the tidbits shared on that page, users will need at least 12.5GB of free storage space to download the game.
This small footprint is fantastic news given that anyone who wants to have a substantial Nintendo Switch library probably already has an SD card to manage their downloads. It’s an even better improvement for Nintendo Switch users who value their storage space when compared to the PlayStation 4 version of the game, which weighed in at about 30GB.
ScrambledFaz also speculated that the reduced visual quality of the game’s animated cutscenes may have contributed to the saved space. That’s not a bad compromise to make if it means more storage space, as long as the downscaled visuals in those cutscenes aren’t dealbreakers for those who were set on getting the Nintendo Switch version anyway.
