Overwatch 2 Character Tier List – Best heroes to play in May 2023
We’ve divided all of the heroes into five tiers based on how they perform in the current meta. S tier heroes are at the pinnacle of the game’s meta and do not require specific team comps or strategies to dominate with. A tier picks aren’t necessarily worse than S tier counterparts, but they’re generally more difficult to use and maximize. The B, C, and D tiers follow suit, representing the roster’s lower echelons in Overwatch 2.

S tier – Ramattra
Ramattra’s kit is designed to be versatile. His Omnic form is a defensive stance that grants you access to his Void Accelerator staff and Void Barrier, which can be used to assist your team in pushing a fixed point or retreating accordingly. Alternatively, Ramattra’s Nemesis form can be activated to deliver an eight-second burst of aggression, imbuing him with the extra armour required to survive a direct melee assault on the opposing team that ignores shields and barriers.
A tier – D.Va
D.Va’s mobility makes her especially effective at tracking down damage and support heroes, and if you can successfully breach the enemy backline as part of a dive comp, you can do a lot of work. D.Va’s Defense Matrix also directly counters a number of powerful abilities.
B tier – Junker Queen
Junker Queen is essentially a berserker tank, and she excels when rampaging. Her sustainability, however, is not yet sufficient to secure a place in the top meta.
Several Junker Queen abilities received buffs during Season 2, including her passive, which now heals for the additional wound damage left on enemies after they die with the wound effect applied. Carnage’s cooldown has also been reduced by two seconds for each enemy it hits, increasing the possibility of applying wounds in a skirmish and reaping the additional healing.
C Tier – Wrecking Ball
Wrecking Ball’s main strength has always been his massive health pool, which allows him to be an extremely durable tank. However, a portion of that health has now been converted to a regenerative shield, allowing him to maintain the advantage without having to retreat for healing at critical moments.
D Tier – Cassidy
Cassidy’s main problem is that he has no chance of surviving against certain heroes. He could compete with most heroes in the game when he had his flashbang stun, but now his overall damage output isn’t enough to save him in dangerous situations.
