Street style star Olivia Palermo has explained how she dresses herself on a daily basis, putting together effortless and elegant ensembles that always impress. Olivia believes order is important when it comes to creating fresh looks, and she says she is a very organized person:
“I’m very organised. My closet is never messy. Thank God for my parents; they gave me structure at a very early age and that has served me well in all aspects of my life.”
Olivia says she doesn’t need to think hard about what she’s going to wear because her organized wardrobe helps her easily put together new looks and she often just has to re-style the items she has prepared to wear. She also has a great basic wardrobe of staples that she can use any time and she knows will always look stylish:
“I wouldn’t say I put that much thought into a look before getting dressed, I spin things out of whatever I have on my rack on the day. For me, it’s all about re-styling what you have. My wardrobe is built around great staples – trousers, jeans shirts and sweaters, then for anything more ‘trendy’ I tend to grab from the high street on the go.”
Revealing the fashion tips she learnt from her mother, Olivia says she was taught to always look well dressed and styled:
“My mother always taught me that you don’t leave the house until you’re fully dressed – make-up and everything. That’s how you start your day, it’s like you get up and make your bed, first thing. Even when I was young I enjoyed fashion – I didn’t have a grunge phase or anything like that.”
