If you want to complete all of the quests in Octopath Traveler 2 and explore its vast world, you won’t want to miss the Pearl Hunt side story.
Octopath Traveler 2 Guide – How to complete the Pearl Hunt side story
Speak to the Man Searching for Pearls at the bottom left of Tropu’haha’s Floating Theatre to begin the Pearl Hunt side story. He’ll tell you that he broke a valuable necklace, and the pearls fell all over the place. He needs your assistance in locating these pearls in order to repair the necklace.
Contrary to the man’s request, you only need to collect one pearl. Although there are more, collecting multiple does not result in additional rewards. The Fisherwoman in Tropu’haha’s northwesternmost house has the easiest pearl to obtain. However, completing Pearl Hunt in Octopath Traveler 2 isn’t as simple as speaking to the Fisherwoman and having her hand it over.
You’ll need to use Agnea’s Entreat, Osvald’s Mug, or Throné’s Steal Path Action to persuade her to give you Pretty Pearl. Success with Agnea is determined by level, whereas success with Throné is determined by luck. The fight with Osvald can be difficult depending on your level, as the Fisherwoman has 2,816 HP and is weak to Sword, Bow, Staff, Wind, and Light.
Once you’ve obtained the Pretty Pearl, return to the Man Seeking Pearls and hand it over. A cutscene will play, revealing that the necklace was purchased for a woman he adores and wishes to propose to. She will accept his proposal, and you will have finished the Pearl Hunt side story. You will be rewarded with 15,000 Leaves, a Cupid’s Bow, and an Empowering Lychee for your efforts (M).
That concludes our guide on how to complete the Pearl Hunt side story in Octopath Traveler 2.
