Jennifer Aniston has opened out about the food she ate during her 10 years on the set of the hit television series Friends.
Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox’s on-set food secrets from “Friends”
When chatting with Capital Radio this week, the actress also revealed the sandwiches and salads that she and her former co-star and close friend Courteney Cox enjoy eating.
Salad recipe videos started making the rounds on social media last year, with the claim that this was Jennifer’s daily lunch on set for ten years.
Video sharing service TikTok was flooded with users recreating the salad and inviting Jennifer to watch their efforts.
While it may look wonderful, the actress has “no idea” where it originated from, as she stated this week, she officially “debunked” the rumors back in June.
The salad came up during an interview with Capital Radio host Sian Welby, and Jennifer clarified that she used to eat a cobb salad when filming Friends.
She shared: ‘That’s not true, not my salad. I don’t know where that has come from. It looks good, but it is not mine.
‘The one I ate on the set of Friends was like iceberg lettuce, it was a cobb salad. I’m trying to remember [what was in it], pecorino, turkey bacon, chicken, and garbanzo beans.’
A food blogger and TikTok user going by the name “Lovelydelites,” whose real name is Hannah, is responsible for popularizing the salad after claiming that Jennifer ate it every day.
Aside from the chickpeas, Hannah’s also had red onion, cucumber, pistachios, fresh parsley, fresh mint, and a tin of chickpeas.
Sian then questioned Jennifer about her sandwich tastes, inquiring as to whether or not she like using chips in her filling.
‘Courteney Cox does that,’ exclaimed Jennifer. Explaining: ‘She [Courteney] will make a sandwich and she’ll put mayonaise, mustard, cheese, sliced chicken and fritos. And then she rolls it all up.’
‘That’s when we used to eat bread, now we have lettuce wraps,’ joked the star.
Friends ran from 1994 until 2004, with the two of them among the cast along with Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, and Matthew Perry.
During an interview with Elle magazine last year, Jennifer discussed the salad, ‘I feel terrible because it’s literally taken off like crazy, and it looks like a delicious salad, by the way, but that’s not the one that I had on Friends.’
She added: ”I would never have that much chickpea in a salad, to be honest. Not good for the digestive tract.’
