Pavel Djundik, the creator of the helpful SteamDB site, came across the new tool this week and tweeted that it appeared to be a “year in review” feature. Djundik said that at the time of discovery, the feature only indicated the game time and total sessions that players accumulated throughout the year.

Valve is working on a "year in review" page for the winter sale.
So far it indicates playtime and total sessions for the year.

Another tweet posted not long after showed that the API was already working with shared tests in the form of an image that seemed to show Djundik’s stats.
Although “total sessions” doesn’t seem like much. It shows how often people play with a controller or on the Steam Deck along with a system of stats for things like the operating system used to play the game. Given what we’ve seen over the last year of evaluated features developed by different platforms, by the time it’s released we’ll probably see more statistical systems that can better track through these features.
