Monster Hunter Rise release date on Xbox, PS5, and PC, cross-platform compatibility and where to play it, will be covered in this article.
Monster Hunter Rise release date
Monster Hunter Rise is now available on Nintendo Switch and PC. On January 20, 2023, new versions of the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S will be released. For Xbox players, the game will be available on Game Pass on the day of release, which means you’ll be able to play it for no more than the service’s subscription fee.
What’s new ?
For the current-gen of gaming consoles, players will have a choice between two visual settings. There will be a Quality mode that displays the game in 4K at 60 frames per second, and a Performance mode that swaps out the higher resolution for a more frame per second-intensive 120 fps.
Cross-play between players on various platforms will also be supported, with certain caveats. Players on the PS5 and PS4 will be able to matchmake with one another, as will players on all Xbox consoles and the Windows PC version.
However, cross-play will not be supported in general. This also applies to cross-save features, so if you’ve previously played the game on Nintendo Switch or PC, you’ll need to start from scratch.
Sunbreak, a Monster Hunter Rise expansion pack, was released in June 2022. This substantial additional content will be available on consoles as well, but it is not expected to be available until Spring 2023, and no exact release date has been confirmed.
