The Yankees are still dealing with two players: Josh Donaldson and Aaron Hicks
MLB news: Dansby Swanson’s pursuit in MLB free agency appears to be a two-team race
The New York Yankees are already strong contenders for the MLB offseason winner. Despite the Giants’ best efforts, they’ve kept Aaron Judge in the Bronx. They just signed ace pitcher Carlos Rodon to strengthen their starting rotation.
However, not everything is well in New York, as they continue to struggle with two players: Josh Donaldson and Aaron Hicks.
During the Yankees’ second-season slump, both Josh Donaldson and Aaron Hicks underperformed in different ways. It comes as no surprise that the team is attempting to trade both of these players.
It’s also not surprising that, according to Jon Heyman, no team is currently willing to trade for either player.

- Carlos Correa’s MLB free agency narrowed down to two teams
“The Yankees have been unable to find takers for Josh Donaldson and Aaron Hicks. Donaldson played a great third base, but his patented bat speed is a question. Donaldson’s presence and pay were one reason Carlos Correa couldn’t work for them.”
During their run last season, Donaldson and Hicks’ defense was still quite good. However, it was their bats that disappointed them the most.
Aside from Judge, Donaldson and Hicks were among the players who failed to produce consistently at the plate when the Yankees desperately needed offense.
We’ll have to wait and see if the Yankees can find someone willing to take a chance on either player. They will undoubtedly want to prepare for another playoff run, especially given how disappointing their season’s final games were.
