21-year old Miley Cyrus recently got engaged to long-time boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, and now she has explained why the couple have decided to get married at such a young age. She believes that life is too short and she should spend as much time with Liam as she can – the marriage isn’t as important to her as the idea and promise of love. She also reveals the engagement will be long:
“Life is too short not to be with the person you want to be with. I don’t really care about the wedding or the piece of paper as much as I do the promise we’ve made to each other. And we want to have a long engagement.”
Speaking on her beautiful vintage engagement ring, Miley was actually completely surprised by it, although she had admired a similar style before. She loves that the ring has a story to tell and it stands out from her other jewellery:
“I had no input. We’d been kind of talking about [getting engaged], and I saw something like it online at one point and thought it was really pretty, but I usually wear rose gold. I just love that it’s old and has a story. And I’m happy because it doesn’t look like anything else I wear.”
Joking about her adorable dog Ziggy, she says that she often favors Liam over her until Liam goes away, and then she’ll suck up to her instead:
“She’s a stubborn little b**ch, that one. She doesn’t listen to me. She’s in love with Liam. She loves me when he’s gone, but she totally ate my diamonds on purpose. She was pooping them out all morning!”
