Finally, an actual explanation as to why Miley Cyrus can only pose with her tongue hanging out of her mouth like a tired dog (sorry Miley). The singer admits that she finds posing for photos awkward, especially on the red carpet, because she doesn’t “know how to smile” and so she finds the experience incredibly awkward. Therefore, she decides to stick her tongue out, simply to give herself something to do. Miley has been photographed numerous times with her tongue hanging out and it has become a part of her signature look in the last year. She explained the strange habit:
”I get embarrassed to take pictures. That’s actually the truth. I’m so embarrassed, because people are taking pictures of me, and I just don’t know how to — I don’t know how to smile, and just be awkward, so I stick my tongue out, because I don’t know what else to do.”
The ‘Wrecking Ball’ singer adds that she has found happiness by simply ignoring celebrity gossip about herself. She says she no longer googles her own name and it has made her feel much better:
”I refuse to Google myself. The minute I stopped Googling myself, you don’t imagine what a happier person I am.”
Miley also candidly explained why she often feels the need to wear minimal clothing on stage, admitting that she fears being labeled as “boring” if she covers up too regularly and feels as though there is no winning:
“I don’t always want to be naked, no matter what I do, I’m either boring or I’m a slut.”
