After splitting the first two games of their four-game regular-season series, the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Lakers will meet again. In Los Angeles, California, at the Crypto.com Arena.
Injury Updates Golden State Warriors – Los Angeles Lakers
The Purple-and-Gold
The No. 13 seed in the West, the Los Angeles Lakers have a record of 27-32 and are 27-30-2 against the spread. They are a couple of games behind the tenth-seeded Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Lakers will need to get better on both sides of the ball if they want to make the playoffs.
Getting D’Angelo Russell and Malik Beasley should help their offense and improve their 3-point shooting. It will also be important for Purple-and-Gold to stay healthy. LeBron James hurt his hand in the All-Star Game, but he should be fine to play against the Warriors on Thursday.
- Update status LeBron James’ injuries
Even though his left foot is hurting, James is likely to play Thursday against the Warriors, according to Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times.
He has been on the injury report a lot this season because of pain in his foot, but he should be ready to play Thursday after a few days off.
Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times reports that Lakers head coach Darvin Ham said that James’ finger injury is “not a problem at all.”
James left the All-Star Game early because of a bruise on his right hand, which is now thought to be a finger injury. In either case, the 38-year-old superstar should be able to play against the Warriors on Thursday.
James had been bothered by an ankle injury for the first half of the season, but he has recently said that he wants to play in as many of the Lakers’ last 23 games as possible.
- Will Anthony Davis playing tonight?
Anthony Davis could play Thursday against the Warriors, even though he has a right foot stress injury.
Even though Davis’s foot hurts, he is expected to play Thursday. In his last five games, the star big man has averaged 19.2 points, 14.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.8 blocks in 32.6 minutes.
The Dubs
Stephen Curry is on the injured list as the Golden State Warriors (29-29, 26-31-1 ATS) head into the second half of the season.
The Warriors said on Wednesday that he will be checked up on again in a week.
Curry was already going to miss some time after the break, but the latest news is that he will miss at least the first four games of the second half.
Since getting hurt, the star point guard has gone biking and lifted weights, but he hasn’t played on the court since last week. Curry’s recent re-evaluation showed that he’s making good progress, so depending on the next re-evaluation, he may be ready to play against the Clippers or Pelicans on March 2 or 3, depending on when the next one is.
Curry had an average of 29.4 points and 6.4 assists for the season. He hurt his leg and will be out for a few more weeks. Since Steph went out, the reigning NBA champions are 2-3 SU and ATS and have lost both of their road games in that time.
All season, Golden State has had trouble with injuries. Andre Iguodala (hip) and Gary Payton II (hip) are currently out for the Warriors, and Andrew Wiggins (personal reasons) is listed as questionable for Thursday’s game against the Lakers.
Wiggins won’t be able to play against the Lakers on Thursday because of a personal matter.
Wiggins will stay out of the game after the All-Star break as planned because he needs to take care of a personal matter. Thursday’s game is the first of a back-to-back set, and it’s not clear if he’ll be back for Friday’s game against the Rockets or not.
Stephen Curry (lower leg) is also out, so Donte DiVincenzo is likely to start again in Wiggins’s place. Anthony Lamb and Jonathan Kuminga could get more minutes off the bench.
