Hoping to put the enormous mistake that was his marriage to Kim Kardashian behind him, basketball star Kris Humphries has decided to sell off the engagement ring Kim Kardashian returned to him when their short-lived 72-day marriage fell apart. Although it is only expected to earn a fraction of the price it originally retailed for, Hump is still hoping to make a final quick buck from the bad omen (can you imagine someone actually buying this and using it as an engagement ring for someone else?!).
The ring will go up for auction at Christie’s auction house in New York City on October 15. It’s a Lorraine Schwartz design which features a 16.21-carat centre diamond and two other 1.80-carat diamonds. A source confirmed the news:
”It is 100 per cent the same ring. Kim has been waiting for the day he would auction it. Everyone always asked what Kim did with the ring – she silently gave it back over a year ago! And Kris waited until the divorce was final to sell it.”
Although the ring reportedly cost $2 million at the time, it’s only expected to go for between $300,000 and $500,000 because obviously, who wants to taint their new marriage with that?
