Following Monday’s terrifying incident, Justin Turner’s wife gave an update on his condition.
Justin Turner’s wife gives an update after a terrifying hit-by-pitch
After taking a pitch to the face from Detroit Tigers pitcher Matt Manning, the new Boston Red Sox infielder had to leave the game.
Even though Turner was able to leave on his own, the severity of his injuries from the pitch were cause for alarm.
Turner’s wife Kourtney provided an update later in the day.
Thank you to everyone that reached out about Justin and sent prayers. We’re home now and he’s resting (okay – maybe listening to the replay of the game). 16 stitches and a lot of swelling but we are thanking God for no fractures & clear scans. ❤️ @redturn2

Turner, now 38 years old and a two-time All-Star, signed a $22 million, two-year contract with the Red Sox this offseason.
He played for the Los Angeles Dodgers for nine seasons, peaking in 2022 by batting.278 with 13 home runs and 81 RBIs.
While the start of the regular season for the Red Sox on March 30 is important, Turner’s well-being should be given higher priority at this time. But fortunately, it seems that his condition is improving.
