Justin Bieber thinks his sound is slowly reflecting his older age. Justin also explains that he has been experimenting with new sounds and also wants to work with new people to make sure that his sound is always fresh and original:
”I’m maturing, and my music’s maturing, so I wanted to do something different. I’ve got a lot of great collaborators working with me, and we’re thinking outside the box. I like the vibe of this song.”
Steve Bartels of Island Def Jam Music Group commented that Justin’s sound is really changing, and his new single ‘Boyfriend’ is his most mature yet, which is why he may be about to gain many new fans who hear the chart topping hit. Steve reveals that now both boys and girls like his sound, where as before he mostly appealed to girls:
”I have a daughter who is eight and has always loved Justin, but what’s interesting is that when I played ‘Boyfriend’ for my 14-year-old son, he thought it was cool. I think Justin will hold on to his core crowd but also win new fans.”
The new song even features a rap created by Bieber before breaking into a catching singing section that has already been compared to Justin Timberlake!
