Actor Josh Brolin’s career continues to make a comeback as of late and he’s spoken on his old wild days. Josh says that aged around 17 he smoked heroin for the first time while filming ‘The Goonies’ but he decided not to let the drug get the better of him because he was interested in working and continuing his life regularly and wasn’t about to become an addict at that age:
“I was the last [gang member] to get into heroin — I smoked it — and the first to get out. I was around 16 or 17, so it was around the time of The Goonies. But I liked working and learning, so it was very difficult for me to lend myself to that drug completely.”
Opening up on his first ever arrest, Josh says he was extremely young and aged 19. He was drunk and got into a fight and later even fought the police when they arrived on the scene. He was even looking at a long time time in jail following the incident but luckily he managed to get a lawyer who cut back his jail time so he only did a small amount:
“When I was 19 a fight broke out, and when the police came, I fought the police. I was pretty drunk. To this day, I have no idea what the fight was about. I woke up in jail. The police were very angry with me. Very angry. They kicked my ass really well. I was looking at a long time in prison. So, basically, I put everything I had — everything I had earned from a TV series I did — into lawyer. I did a bit of jail time. Not much, but a little bit.”
