Jessica Simpson marked her daughter Maxwell’s 11th birthday on Saturday with a poignant Instagram post in which she revealed her father Joe is battling bone cancer.

The doting mother, 42, commended Maxwell for using her birthday wish to pray for the success of Jessica’s 65-year-old father’s bone cancer treatments.
Jessica wrote in her lengthy post: ‘Maxwell’s birthday wish was for her Papa Joe’s bone cancer treatment to work. It did. Thank you Maxi Drew for usin’ your wish on our family and most importantly, my Dad.’
The I Wanna Love You Forever singer was seen wrapping her legs around Maxwell’s torso and holding her mother up in the air.
Jessica’s message appears to be the first time she has publicly discussed her father’s diagnosis of bone cancer.
Joe was previously diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2016 and 2017.
According to Us Weekly, he was deemed ‘in the clear’ after a successful radiation treatment.
Jessica appeared slim in skintight leather slacks and a lime-green zip-up hoodie.
The entrepreneur wore her long blonde tresses down over huge hoop earrings and a gorgeous cosmetics palette.
On her Instagram Stories, the mother-of-three also posted several photos of Maxwell.
Maxwell grinned in the first photo as she hoisted a giant green balloon on the sidewalk while wearing a yellow button-up shirt.
The second photo showed Maxwell striking a pose with her hand on her chin while standing on a log against a woodland setting.
Jessica’s mini-me was seen sitting on a swing, hugging farm animals, and smiling with her mother in other photos.
Simpson also shared a cute family photo, except for her four-year-old daughter Birdie, who was plainly displeased.
‘Can’t win them all,’ Simpson captioned the amusing family photo.
Simpson’s three children were photographed beside her husband, Eric Johnson.
Jessica and her husband have three children: Maxwell Drew, 11, Ace Knute, 9, and Birdie Mae, 4.
The couple met at a party in 2010 through a mutual acquaintance and married in 2014.
