Actor James Franco claims to have extended a helping hand to Lindsay when she was going through a hard time. James met Lindsay when he directed a video featuring the actress in 2011, but he says that since she’s been getting into more trouble they haven’t spoken. Although they’ve now broken off contact, he says that initially he did try to reach out and offer her some help, especially because she inspired a few poems he has written:
”Lindsay and I had reconnected at that time. I had been writing some poems about the Chateau Marmont and one or two of the poems involved Lindsay. I haven’t talked to her in a long time because it seemed like she was getting into some more trouble. I’ve tried to help her.”
James thinks that the reason she continuously gets in trouble is because now there is so much hype surrounding her life that any little fault is highlighted and she doesn’t get time to think about where she’s gone wrong because tempting offers are thrown into her face and she can also exploit all the publicity from her negative experiences:
”I think one of the reasons it’s so hard is when she gets in trouble, she gets all this attention and I’m sure she gets book offers. Like she goes to jail, and instead of feeling like, ‘I really hit a low place’, she’ll get a crazy offer for her jail memoir.”
