Ja’Marr Anthony Chase (born March 1, 2000) is an American football wide receiver for the National Football League’s Cincinnati Bengals (NFL). He attended LSU and won the Fred Biletnikoff Award and the 2020 College Football Playoff National Championship as a sophomore.
Ja’Marr Chase’s latest injury update
Update: Dec. 18
Injury: None
Injury Status: Active
UPDATE (DEC. 18): Chase had 10 catches for 119 yards and a touchdown against the Browns on Sunday. He also had one six-yard carry.
UPDATE 2: Chase caught seven passes for 97 yards as the Bengals defeated the Chiefs 27-24 on Sunday.
UPDATE: According to Andrew Gillis of The Cleveland Plain Dealer, Ja’Marr Chase (hip) was not present for Wednesday’s practice.
Chase is still out after the Bengals’ Week 10 bye, but Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com believes he will be ready to play against the Titans in Week 12.
Meanwhile, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd are expected to lead the team’s receiver corps.
Chase was selected by the Bengals with the fifth overall pick in the 2021 draft, and the LSU product quickly rose to fantasy prominence.
Chase received fewer targets than expected (18th among WRs with 127), but his 11.5 yards per target (second highest) and 8.1 yards after the catch (fourth highest) allowed him to gain 1,455 yards (fourth most).
Chase was also active near the goal line (his 13 end zone targets ranked fifth), which resulted in 13 touchdowns and the position’s fifth-most fantasy points.
Chase is only 22 years old, so we haven’t seen his best season yet. Joe Burrow’s top target is a high-end wide receiver.
